Blind Faith

49 Stories is a progressive hip hop group currently comprised of emcees once and paradox, and producer gollum. Hailing from the land-locked isolation of Colorado, 49 Stories has developed music that embodies a compelling coupling of thought-provoking, poetic lyrics and mood-setting, atmospheric beats. This blend can easily satisfy everyone, from the hip hop fundamentalists to those looking for the next level music that forces one to think.

Blind Faith is the third release from 49 Stories and the experience is paying off. This time around, the trio drags the skeletons out of the closet, fully prepared to confront religion, society, consumerism, and yes, even pyromania. To round out the feel of the album, the crew added songs like the posse cut, Together, which is a straight-forward, good ol' fashion hip hop joint. Altogether, Blind Faith is a tightly-composed cross-section of life that most anyone will be able to relate to.

49 Stories has shared the stage with such hip hop favorites as Awol One, Josh Martinez, Mr. Lif, Fakts One, DJ Moves, MC Paul Barman, and Sleep, JFK, and Onry Ozzborne of Oldominion. Prior to the addition of paradox, once and gollum released two previous CDs, a full-length entitled Peripheral Thoughts and an EP entitled Depression Followers. Both albums were well-received and appreciated by the hip hop community. As Ichabod Yrock wrote in a review for hiphopinfinity.com, The Depression Followers is one of many albums testing the vitality of the mutable underground scene. And it finds a pulse. No matter how depressing 49 Stories wants to be, their message is one of hope.

Voicebox Records is the label that brought you Sentence's Bomb Shelter Poetry CD (2002), AES's May to December CD (2003) and Makeshift Gods' Invisible People 12 single.
