texas rock trio gringospiclimey features original compositions from gringo (dave wheeler, guitars, vocals,usa---spic(ricardo boye,drums,chile) and limey (neil harrison,basses,great britain). heavy, sometimes qiurky songs displaying unique chord progressions, vocals, and arrangements with a flair for tempo changes. band has influences from the beatles to nirvana, with complete disdain for today's rock radio scene. if you like fenders and gibsons, marshall and vox, eight and twelve strings of bass, and thunderous ludwigs, you'll love this....note..it's meant to be played loud in home or mobile. songs contain topics like living on anti-depressants, dealing with pressure, meeting the love of your life, and finding you've become someone you'd rather not be...when playing, the band likes to consume its favorite tequila beverage they call gsl juice.

hey everybody...gringo here...here's the deal...I first noticed music in 1958 when I was 8 years old..my sister and some of her girlfriends were dancing to at the hop by danny and the juniors, and it struck me that something was going on.....I had just started learning to play the ukelele in elementary school, so I started learning 3 chord diddies...when the beatles came along, I became a total lennon fan, and graduated to a 6-string...guess what?...I'm 55 freaking years old....our bass playing limey is 45, and he noticed the beatles as a kid, but really lost his mind when deep purple, the clash, rush, and nirvana landed...the spic drummer is 35 (shit!..I could be his daddy!), and loves led zep, and is obviously a bonham fan....his motto is I'll play anything as long as it's heavy.....three band members seperated by 10 years each brings quite a diverse mix to our songs, and as you will hear draws from our many influences....our songwriting begins with an idea...the arrangements are crafted by each band member implementing is take on the song....as the song progresses, we create space for each player...for christ's sake, there's enough fuckin' room for everybody...we don't need 10 tracks on each song!!...strap on a pair of headphones, mix up a batch of gsl juice (see our recipe on our website), and rock your ass off!!!!....our analog-recorded (12 fucking mics!!!), drums, the rumbling bass(some on the custom-built hamer 12-string, and the old fart on the guitar will give you a sound you've never heard....we like to tuck the vocals in as another instrument....it's best because sometimes I scream too much!!!please buy and pass the word along!!!!
