Sands Of Time (cd Single Bi-lingual)

This recording is truly a bi-lingual CD single. Alan Merrill wrote these songs in 1971, and recorded them with his Tokyo based glam rock band Vodka Collins. The original vinyl single was released in the summer of 1973, in the Japanese language, and was a double A-Sided 45 rpm hit single on the EMI Toshiba label. The Japanese lyrics were written by drummer Hiroshi Oguchi with some (uncredited) help from his then girlfriend, legendary romantic lyricist Yasui ZuZu Kazumi. The two songs are now a staple on Japanese classic rock radio, as they appear on the band Vodka Collins Tokyo-New York album. In the millennium Alan Merrill went back into the studio and re-recorded these songs. Most of all because although he wrote the songs originally in English, there had never been released versions in the English language. The two songs are presented here in both languages, English and Japanese. It's something just a little bit different!
