The Dawn Of Enlightenment
Armory was formed in the summer of 2001, though all of the members had already been friends for a few years prior to that time. The lineup consists of Chad Fisher on rhythm/lead guitar, Joe Kurland on drums and rhythm/lead guitar, Adam Kurland on vocals, and Thomas Preziosi on bass. Armory has made one demo/CD thus far in their promising career entitled The Dawn of Enlightenment. It consists of ten original songs, including a majestic intro, an emotional ballad, an ass-kicking instrumental, and a classic epic. Overall, the CD contains over an hour of passionately crafted melodic power metal. The song writing, recording, and mixing took three years to perfect. This is because the album was recorded and mixed on home computers using Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.0 instead of a studio, the songs were constantly revised and rerecorded, and the members have been extremely busy while trying to balance music with school. All of the members had been attending the same high school when the band was created and are currently attending college.
Armory is essentially a power metal band hailing from Massachusetts, U.S.A. Musically, Armory is almost entirely influenced by metal; however, they get inspiration from the whole spectrum of this broad genre; from power/progressive, to 80s thrash and classic, to some black and death. The remaining musical influence is from either classical, or video game music. Music from Nintendo games such as Mega Man, Castlevania, Zelda, and Contra has helped to shape Armory's sound. Armory uses lots of double-bass drumming, soaring vocals, galloping rhythms, dual leads, and atmospheric melodies. To sum it all up, Armory sounds like a combination of Iron Maiden, Helloween, and Edguy, mixed with their own unique sound.
The Dawn of Enlightenment has been reviewed and given a 4.5 out of 5 on this website. http://www.metalcrypt.com. An interview with Armory can also be found on this same website. Armory would like to thank all the people who have supported them and their music, especially fans like YOU! LONG LIVE HEAVY METAL!
