Ever The Winds

Ever the Winds began as a recording of a special time in our lives as Mother and Daughter performing together -- a recording of family love -- two musicians. This tribute of love culminated into a gift of music for our dear friend that battles Alzheimer's Disease daily.

Jim came from Ireland to America as a teenager. His passion for music goes very deep -- particularly for the Folk tunes that he knew and loved as a child while growing up in Ireland. Kerri and I have recorded his two favorites and feature the talented Tullamore Celtic Band, from Rochester, NY.

FEATURED MUSICIANS:

Patrick Callahan - pianist Karl Slominski - drums, trombone - In a World of My Own Ann Mitchell - flute - Kindle My Heart Tullamore Celtic Band - Dick Bolt, Brian Coughlin and Terry O'Toole

A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON ANN and KERRI LYNN -

My professional vocal style is Jazz and Broadway. I have sung with a Big Band, various jazz combos and performed in a variety of venues in and around Rochester, NY for over 15 years. My inspiration/passion comes from singers such as: Judy Garland, Doris Day, Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney, Jo Stafford and many many more!

My current work is with my Jazz combo. ANN MITCHELL JAZZ has played in and around Rochester NY in festivals, concerts, clubs and private events. This summer, we had the pleasure of performing at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. I am working on a Jazz compilation that I hope to have recorded by Winter 2006. There are some great clips of my trio on my site www.annsings.com/clips.htm The songs featuring the trio are - “There Will Never Be Another You,” “Lover Man (Oh, Where Can You Be?),” “Them There Eyes,” “Skylark,” and “Don't Get Around Much Anymore.”

You can imagine my delight when my daughter, KERRI, showed an interest and talent in performance as a little girl and seemed to inherit my BIG voice! She began singing solos in school and church by the age of ten. Her classical style seemed to 'appear' at the age of 14! KERRI was just 15 when she recorded with me on Ever the Winds.

KERRI LYNN attended the Eastman Community Music School in Rochester, NY, where she studied with Cecile Saine. She was awarded scholarships at Eastman yearly for her studies. Kerri won first place in the Young Artist voice competition at SUNY Geneseo in March 2004. In May 2005 -- KERRI LYNN performed a solo concert at the PICCOLO SPOLETO MUSIC FESTIVAL, held in Charleston, SC.

KERRI LYNN recently graduated from the Eastman Community Music School with an ‘Advanced Achievement Award' in Voice. She was presented with a scholarship from the school music association, the teacher's retirement association and the Traveling Cabaret of Irondequoit at her high school Graduation ceremony. Kerri had the honor of being asked to perform at both Eastman and high school Graduation. Kerri is included in the Fall 2005 edition of WHO'S WHO AMONG AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

KERRI LYNN is currently a voice student with Steven Rainbolt at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, MD. Her repertoire is comprised of classics by Mozart, Puccini, Handel, Grieg, Menotti and more (six languages in all!)

A LISTENER'S COMMENTS - Ever the Winds

I want to tell you how much I've enjoyed Ever the Winds. I have a 5 slot CD player and it sits in the number one spot so that it comes up each time I turn it on. You and your daughter make a beautiful sound together. My best to you and Kerri for the future. ~ Tom Rooney
