Tank Full Of Gas And An Empty Cup

Chris & Victoria Hardy are 3 feet up. They also happen to be husband and wife. They want to lift people's spirits and send out positive messages with their music, but underneath their acoustic pop sound, they really want to be lounge lizards! They live just outside of Greensboro, North Carolina and have played music together since June of 2004.

The band exists mostly due to the passing of Victoria's 18 year old son Steven in 2002. Victoria learned how to play drums shortly thereafter and discovered that playing music assisted greatly in her healing.

Chris writes the songs, plays the acoustic guitar, bass guitar and vocalizes. He says that his old songs were mainly about his own frustrations and who wants to hear that? His newer songs, written specifically for 3 feet up, are more positive and kinda 50's bowling shirt lounge music inspired. Live, they seem to not lack anything (even though they have no bass player) and are quite symmetrical onstage with Victoria's standup drumkit right up front next to Chris.

The two cite influences as diverse as Dave Brubeck, Dave Matthews, Robyn Hitchcock, Foo Fighters, John Mayer, Sting, Steely Dan and way more.

Since the release of their self-produced debut CD Tank Full Of Gas And An Empty Cup, they have turned into gig machines, relentlessly playing all over North Carolina and wherever there is a demand; your local Holiday Inn, perhaps?
