Everyone Has A Story

ADRYAN RUSS conceived the idea and wrote music and lyrics for INSIDE OUT, the award-winning off-Broadway musical, co-written with playwright/lyricist Doug Haverty; produced by Richard Frankel, Marc Routh and Randy Kelly at The Cherry Lane Theatre. The musical has been published by Samuel French, and the NY cast CD, Inside Out, distributed by DRG Records. Her work has been featured at Group Repertory Theatre, The Colony Theatre, and the West Valley Playhouse in the Los Angeles area; Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota; the Phoenix Theatre in Arizona; 12 Miles West in Montclair, New Jersey; the Wealthy Theatre in Michigan, among others. INSIDE OUT is scheduled for an Allegro Productions run at the Here Arts Center in Soho, opening October 10, 2003. Last year, Adryan participated in a tribute to Charles Strouse, with Michael Feinstein, at Carnegie Hall and in Chicago's ASCAP Cabaret: Her Turn with Karen Mason, Sharon McNight, Babbie Green, Christine Lavin, Lindy Robbins, Patty Morabito, Dan Stetzl, Beckie Menzie and an array of Chicago cabaret performers, hosted by Jason Graae. LML Music (www.lmlmusic.com) released EVERYONE HAS A STORY: THE SONGS OF ADRYAN RUSS, produced by Bruce Kimmel. Adryan's songs are performed by some of Los Angeles and Broadway stages' best: Cindy Benson, Susanne Blakeslee, David Burnham, Barbara Deutsch, Susan Egan, Jason Graae, Sharon McNight, Lisa Richard, and Tami Tappan, among others. Adryan wrote music for LUSTER, produced at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre; and incidental music and title song for Doug Haverty's In My Mind's Eye. She and Doug are currently developing a new musical based on an Oscar Wilde story, commissioned by a theater in Toronto to write songs for this musical concept. Her work has been featured at the ASCAP/ Disney Workshop in Los Angeles, and at Chicago's Theatre Building. Her songs have been sung by a variety of cabaret performers and recorded by pop singers in the U.S. and abroad. With film composers, Adryan has worked as lyricist only, on such title songs as White Lies for The Check Is In The Mail, with Brian Dennehy and Ann Archer; and Save The Earth, for the English-version cult classic, Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster (which she admits with great trepidation). She's also written music and lyrics for several animated features and theme park specials. Adryan is a member of ASCAP, The Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop (Los Angeles), The Academy for New Musical Theatre, The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS), The Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL), and The Dramatists Guild.
